Privacy policy
How we handle your personal data
We collect only what we need to contact you and, if you decide to go ahead, to run your purchase. This page says what that is, where it is stored, who sees it and what you can ask us to do with it.
1. Who is responsible
The data controller is MARSOFT S.A.S. (Argentine tax ID 30-71953246-9, registered at the Córdoba Public Registry of Commerce, registration no. 49282-A, Córdoba, Argentina), which operates the Buy in Argentina service. You can reach us about anything in this policy at hello@buyinargentina.com.
2. What we collect and why
| Data | When | Purpose | Legal basis |
|---|---|---|---|
| Name, email, country, time zone, language, and phone number if you give it | When you submit the contact form | To call or email you, schedule your video call in your time zone, and keep a record of our conversations | Steps prior to a contract, at your request |
| Notes of our calls and emails; what you are looking for, budget and timeline | During our work together | To advise you and search for properties | Performance of the service you asked for |
| Passport copy, address abroad, power of attorney, proof of origin of funds | If you decide to buy | To obtain your tax ID, and to comply with Argentine notarial and anti-money-laundering requirements | Legal obligation and performance of the service |
| Anonymous visit data: time zone, browser language, referring site, campaign tag, device type | When you open our website | To know how many people visit and from where. We do not store your IP address and we do not use tracking cookies. | Legitimate interest (measuring our website) |
3. Who sees it
Inside our team, only the people who need it for your case: your case manager, and, when your case reaches them, our broker, our accountant and the notary. Each sees only the part of your file relevant to their role. We do not sell, rent or share your data with anyone for marketing.
We use these service providers, who process data on our behalf under contract:
- Amazon Web Services (United States): hosting of our system and sending of email.
- Cloudflare (United States): domain, DNS and routing of incoming email.
- Telegram: internal notifications to our team (your name, country and the subject of your message; never your documents).
Some of these providers are outside Argentina, the EU and the UK. Transfers rely on the providers' standard contractual clauses and equivalent safeguards.
4. How long we keep it
- If you contact us but do not go ahead: 24 months after our last exchange, then deleted.
- If you buy: documents related to the transaction are kept for 10 years, which is the period required by Argentine tax and anti-money-laundering rules, then deleted.
- Anonymous visit data: 24 months.
5. How we protect it
Data is stored on encrypted disks on a server in the United States, accessible only over encrypted connections, with individual accounts for each team member and role-based access. Documents such as your passport are never sent by chat or messaging apps. Daily backups are kept encrypted.
6. Your rights
You can ask us at any time to access the data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to its use, or receive a copy in a portable format. Write to hello@buyinargentina.com; we answer within 10 business days. Deleting data we are legally required to keep (section 4) is not possible until that period ends, but we will restrict it.
Residents of Argentina may also complain to the Agencia de Acceso a la Información Pública (argentina.gob.ar/aaip). Residents of the EU and the UK may complain to their national data protection authority.
7. Cookies
Our public website sets no tracking or advertising cookies. It uses browser session storage only to avoid counting the same visit twice. Our internal system, used by our team, uses a session cookie to keep team members logged in.
8. Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will note the new effective date here and, if you are an active client, email you.
